Foundation stone for development works to be taken up at a cost of ₹440 crore under the Arogya Avishkara programme will be laid in Yadgir on Saturday.
The District Stadium in Yadgir has been fully prepared for the foundation stone-laying ceremony, with financial assistance from Kalyan Karnataka Regional Development Board (KKRDB).
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge will lay the foundation stone for the works at the stadium.
Minister for Small Scale Industries and also district in-charge Sharanabasappa Darshanapur, KKRDB chairman and MLA Ajay Singh visited the venue on Friday and inspected the preparations.
After that, Mr. Darshanapur told media persons that the State government is aiming at strengthening the health sector in the region. It will lay foundation stone for various health institutions to be taken up at a cost of ₹440 crore.
Construction and upgradation of primary and community health centres across the region are included in the project. He said that around 20,000 people are expected to take part in the programme. Seating arrangements, food and water facilities have been made.
The Minister said that an industrial hub will be developed near Mudaragi village at a cost of ₹200 crore with a 50% share from KKRDB and the Small Scale Industries Department to give a boost to industries.
