The Airports Authority of India (AAI), Vijayawada Airport has announced that Fly91 Airline began flight operations from Vijayawada International Airport on Friday (April 10, 2026) on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada-Hyderabad sector.
Union Minister of Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, who took part in the inaugural ceremony virtually, congratulated Fly91 on its expansion into Vijayawada and Rajamahendravaram, noting the airline’s growth across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. He said Fly91’s growth was linked to the UDAN scheme, the Ministry’s programme for developing unserved and underserved airports.
The Minister said the modified UDAN scheme aims to develop 100 new airports across India over the next five years and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to linking Vijayawada to more international and domestic destinations.
Andhra Pradesh Minister for Geology, Mines, and Excise Kollu Ravindra handed over the first boarding passes to passengers on the inaugural flight. He said the State government, supported by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, plans to develop an airport in every district to support logistics, cargo movement and regional economic growth.
With the addition of Fly91, the Vijayawada-Hyderabad route is now served by nine daily flights.
