Nanoscientist honoured in his native place Nellore

Nanoscientist Anumukonda Varada Rajulu honoured in Nellore for his global contributions to eco-friendly nanocomposites and research excellence.
Retired professor and noted nanoscientist Anumukonda Varada Rajulu was felicitated at Thikkana Pranganam, Collectorate, in Nellore on Friday. A resident of Nawabpet in Nellore, he has earned several notable scientific accolades from across the world.
After felicitating the scientist, Joint Collector Mogili Venkateswarlu said it was a matter of great pride for the district that Varada Rajulu had been ranked by Stanford University, USA, among the top 2% scientists in the world for five consecutive years (2021–2025).
He said that even at the age of 75, Dr. Varada Rajulu remained a role model for the youth, continuing his research and making significant contributions to science. His work in eco-friendly nanocomposites and nanomedicine has received international recognition.
Dr. Varada Rajulu has secured several Indian and international patents for his work. The anti-bacterial nanocomposites developed using natural ingredients such as turmeric and cow urine are suitable for hospital use and help reduce bacterial infections.
He has published more than 250 research papers in international journals. He has participated in research at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing on several occasions and has also taught at King Mongkut’s University in Thailand. He had earlier received the Best Teacher Award for his services.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Varada Rajulu said that Nellore always held a special place in his heart, wherever he worked. He expressed happiness that District Collector Himanshu Shukla had invited and honoured him.
