Nikhil Kumaraswamy says no alliance discussions with BJP for local body polls.
Stating that there has been no discussion yet on contesting the local body elections in an alliance, Youth Janata Dal (Secular) leader Nikhil Kumaraswamy on Friday said that discussions would take place after the polls are announced.
“The senior leaders in both parties (JD -S and BJP) will decide whether to go to polls together or not. We will take up activities to strengthen our party,” Mr. Nikhil Kumaraswamy told presspersons here. “We went in an alliance in Parliamentary polls. Even now, we will have a cordial arrangement with State and Central leaders of the BJP.”
Mr. Nikhil, who reviewed the arrangement for the JD(S) convention to mark the silver jubilee of the party, said that the convention in Bengaluru to be held on Saturday will be the first of the eight conventions planned to be held across the State.
“The convention is being held to strengthen the party ahead of GBA elections, and it will instil enthusiasm among the leaders and new leaders will emerge. We will tell the people about the contribution of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy for the development of Bengaluru,” he said.
