Explore 'Geetu Geechu,' an art expo by Mythri students, showcasing creativity and promoting inclusivity for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Mythri Charitable Trust, a school dedicated to persons with intellectual disabilities, presented “Geetu Geechu”, an art exhibition showcasing works by its students.
The exhibition was held at Suchitra Art Gallery in Kalamandir.
Shubha Sanjay Urs, founder president, Mysuru Book Clubs Charitable Trust and Mysuru Literature Festival inaugurated the expo.
Founded in 1973 and formally registered as a trust in 1982, Mythri Charitable Trust has over four decades of experience in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, focusing on life skills, creative expression, and fostering independence, a release said.
Organised as part of Autism Awareness Month, the exhibition highlights the unique perspectives of students through art, aiming to promote inclusivity and greater community awareness.
Many participating students come from economically challenged backgrounds and live with varying levels of intellectual disability. The exhibition provided them with a platform to express themselves and connect with the public, the release said.
