Disha Poojary from Alvas PU College, Moodbidri in Dakshina Kannada district, said scoring the full 600 marks in the Commerce stream of II PUC was her way of paying tribute to her mother Savita, who passed away on March 2.
“After I wrote two papers, my mother passed away a day before the third English subject exam. A lecturer of mine took me to my house. I received good support from my teachers to overcome grief and to write the subsequent papers well,” said Ms. Poojary, the eldest daughter of Dinesh Poojary, a real estate firm owner in Moodbidri.
Having lost her mother, she did not want to lose the opportunity to do well in examination, she said. Ms. Poojary aspires to become a Chartered Accountant and she is now focusing on CA foundation course.
