Collector inaugurates community clinic in Chittoor

Community Clinic in Chittoor inaugurated to enhance healthcare access and reduce hospital pressure, benefiting over 200,000 residents.
District Collector Sumit Kumar inaugurated a Community Clinic at Mittur locality under the Chittoor Municipal Corporation limits, as part of a joint initiative between the Andhra Pradesh government and the Christian Medical College Hospital, Vellore (TN) campus, on Friday (April 10, 2026).
Speaking to the media here, the Collector said that the facility is expected to improve access to affordable medical services for the residents and reduce pressure on government hospitals. He highlighted the importance of collaborative healthcare models in improving last-mile services. “This clinic will cater to a population of over two lakh in and around the Corporation,” he said.
In another programme held in commemoration of the National Survey Day, the staff of the Department of Survey organised a blood donation camp at the Chittoor Revenue Building.
The Collector, who inaugurated the camp, said that voluntary blood donation by government employees helps address shortage in government hospitals and save lives. He commended the commitment of survey staff and Red Cross members who participated in the camp and urged wider public involvement in regular blood donation drives.
