
Women entrepreneurs trained in digital marketing tools

Women entrepreneurs in Puducherry received training on digital marketing and business promotion tools to enhance their market competitiveness.
Women entrepreneurs underwent a day-long training session on digital marketing and other business promotion tools organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, in association with the Pondicherry Industrial Promotion Development and Investment Corporation Limited (PIPDIC).
According to a press note, the session on ‘Branding and Marketing for Entrepreneurs’ was held at the District Industries Centre (DIC) as part of International Women’s Day celebrations and ongoing programmes under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
The objective was to strengthen the ecosystem for women entrepreneurship in Puducherry and empower women entrepreneurs and MSMEs by equipping them with practical insights on branding, packaging and labelling standards.
It also focused on evolving digital marketing strategies to enhance their market reach and competitiveness. The exposure was particularly aimed at raising level of market readiness, particularly for small and women-led enterprises seeking to expand their market presence.
A. Vikranth Raja, Secretary to Government (Industries and Commerce, Fire Service and Excise), G. Jayaraman, General Manager, DIC and PIPDIC, N. Shajima, Deputy Director, Department of Fisheries and Samit Kumar, faculty, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad, participated.
Leading a technical session, M. Ravichandran, former Food Safety Officer, elaborated on food safety regulations and product labelling standards, including key aspects such as FSSAI compliance, barcoding, packaging norms, and regulatory requirements essential for market readiness.
