The water level in Papanasam dam on Tuesday stood at 101.30 feet (the maximum level 143 ft.) with an inflow of 253.81 cusecs and a discharge of 1,200 cusecs. The level in Manimuthar dam stood at 97.77 ft. (118 ft.) with an inflow of 51.89 cusecs and a discharge of 465 cusecs.

Three people, including an elderly man and a woman, died, and 12 others were injured in Raichur district’s Deodurga taluk on Tuesday. According to police sources, one person died on the spot, the other at the hospital, and 12 were injured in an accident that occurred near Karigudda village in Deodurga taluk.

Belagavi-based NGO, Pyaas Foundation, has begun the task of rejuvenating a century-old well in Vadgaon Nazar Camp. Mayor Mangesh Pawar launched the work on Monday. The well was built by the Kings of the Kurundwad princely state in the 1920s. The stone masonry structure once served as the primary source of water for the entire village of Vadgaon, which is now part of Belagavi city.
