Three people, including an elderly man and a woman, died, and 12 others were injured in Raichur district’s Deodurga taluk on Tuesday. According to police sources, one person died on the spot, the other at the hospital, and 12 were injured in an accident that occurred near Karigudda village in Deodurga taluk.

According to police sources, one person died on the spot, the other at the hospital, and 12 were injured in an accident that occurred near Karigudda village in Deodurga taluk.
The dead were identified as 47-year-old Mallappa and 30-year-old Monnamma, respectively. The police shifted the injured to the taluk hospital, where they are getting treatment.
The incident occurred when a tom-tom autorickshaw in which they were travelling was rear-ended by a government-owned bus, and the autorickshaw was overturned. Both vehicles were heading towards Deodurga from different places.
Superintendent of Police Arunangshu Giri, Additional Superintendent of Police Kumarswamy, and Police Inspector Manjunath Chalaveri visited the accident spot and inspected the incident.
Deodurga Police have registered a case and have launched an investigation to ascertain the reason behind the incident.
