Volunteers at a refugee camp in Romania celebrated a 7-year-old girl's birthday. The heartwarming video has gone viral on social media.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine has set off the largest mass migration in Europe in decades, with more than 1.5 million people having crossed from Ukraine into neighbouring countries. The internet is replete with heartwrenching pictures of children and adults making their way to safety with whatever little belongings they could scoop in with them. Amid all the heartbreaking and tense news arriving from Ukraine, there is this video that has surfaced on social media which will surely leave you teary-eyed.
Seven-year-old Arina, who fled Ukraine after the Russian invasion, was thrown a birthday party by volunteers and emergency services personnel at a Romanian refugee camp. She was with her family in a makeshift tent for the refugees when the volunteers greeted her with gifts and balloons and sang her the birthday song. Arina was beaming with joy as everyone tried their level best to make the day special for her.“Humanity... a refugee camp in Romania comes together for a Ukrainian girl on her 7th birthday... let's wish Arina a happy birthday below. Thank you to the helpers (sic),” the video caption reads.

Arina's family is one of the many refugees at the Siret border camp, where Romania meets Ukraine's southwest border - about 20 miles from the city of Chernivtsi.
"More than 1.5 million refugees from Ukraine have crossed into neighbouring countries in 10 days," the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grande tweeted.
