A 25-year-old woman's skin turned green after using a dark fake tan. She had used a shade called Darker than Dark on her skin.
A 25-year-old woman was horrified to discover that her skin had turned green after a fake tan went wrong. Devon Birkett, who is a mental health support worker by profession, put on the fake tan to give her pale skin a golden glow. However, after a while of applying the dark fake tan, she discovered that her face, hands, arms, legs and feet had turned green.
According to the Daily Mail, Devon, who is from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, slathered a layer of a fake tan mousse in the shade Darker than Dark and then settled down to watch a murder documentary. However, after two hours, she noticed that her feet were khaki-coloured. She was naturally alarmed and went to see herself in the mirror.
“I had my feet up on the coffee table and when I looked down at my feet they were really, really green. I jumped up and looked in the mirror and that's when I noticed how green my face was, I looked like Shrek. I was bright green, it was even worse in person,” said Devon.

“I am naturally quite pale, like a ghost,” informed Devon. “I like to fake tan because it makes me feel more confident with it on. I like getting a bit of a golden glow. I was going out the next day with friends and I wanted to look nice, instead I ended up green,” she added further.
As per the Daily Mail, Devon video-called her friends who burst out laughing and compared her to Shrek, the green-coloured ogre. But, thankfully, she was left with a fairly normal tan after she jumped in the shower to wash it off. However, her skin still had a slightly green undertone.
