Seven stolen village dogs were spotted travelling together along a busy highway in northeastern China after escaping suspected dog meat traders. They set off on a 17-km journey back to their village, as seen in a heartwarming video that has gone viral on social media.
Lu, a resident of China, recorded a video of the group of dogs walking in formation along a highway in Changchun, in Jilin province on March 16, South China Morning Post reports. Lu first spotted them on the highway that was about 17 km from their village.
The video showed the group of dogs moving cautiously, with several staying close to an injured German shepherd. A Corgi appeared to lead the group, frequently turning back as if to check on the others.

Speaking to the Chinese newspaper Dahe Daily, Lu said: “They resemble a band of little brothers in distress, moving in unison – nothing like stray dogs.”
According to Lu, he tried multiple times to steer the dogs away from traffic and toward safety, but they did not respond.
