Newly surfaced audio reveals an exchange between an air traffic controller and a colleague after an Air Canada Express jet collided with a fire truck at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, leaving two pilots dead.
In the recording, the distraught controller is heard being comforted in the aftermath of the crash.
"Yeah man, that wasn’t good to watch," one controller says.
"I tried to reach out... we were dealing with an emergency earlier... I messed up," the other responds.
"Nah, man, you did the best you could," the first replies.
