A man driving a car on a busy road in Bengaluru remained calm after a scooter rider, who was riding on a footpath, collided with his vehicle – a moment that has now gone viral on social media.
The incident was caught on camera as a video of it was shared on X by Karnataka Portfolio.
In the 38-second clip, the scooter rider rode into the pedestrian zone, collided with the car, and fell down. The man driving the car, however, did not react with anger and handled the situation with composure. He stepped out of his car, checked for damage, and also helped the scooter rider.
“While many people would immediately lose their temper in such a situation, this car driver handled it with remarkable patience and maturity. Even though the two-wheeler rider was clearly at fault for riding on the footpath and causing the accident, the car owner did not react with anger or aggression,” Karnataka Portfolio said in the caption of the post, adding: “Instead, he chose to stay composed and even offered help to the rider. That level of self-control and empathy is truly admirable and reflects a responsible and thoughtful individual.”
Meanwhile, Karnataka Portfolio also reiterated that riding on footpaths is both illegal and dangerous, as it puts pedestrians at risk and disrupts spaces designated for their safety. Many users pointed out that such behaviour has become common, particularly among two-wheeler riders attempting to bypass traffic.
