Russia Ukraine war news updates: Several states in the USA and Canada have called for a boycott of Russian vodka. Vodka has faced the brunt of international anger after Russia invaded Ukraine.
Russia invading Ukraine has led to vodka paying the price as several states in the USA and Canada are boycotting Russian-made and Russian-branded spirits.
In the US state of New Hampshire, Governor Chris Sununu, on Saturday, announced that Russian-made and Russian-branded spirits would be banned from state-run wine and liquor outlets. In Ohio too, the governor announced similar plans to stop the purchase of Russian standard vodka.
.@OhioLiquor estimates that there are approximately 6,400 bottles of vodka made by Russian Standard currently for sale in Ohio's 487 liquor agencies across the state. Retailers have been asked to immediately pull Green Mark Vodka and Russian Standard Vodka from their shelves.
Canadian liquor stores are removing Russian vodka and other Russian-made alcoholic beverages from their shelves in an act of condemnation over Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.
As per a report by Reuters, liquor stores in the provinces of Manitoba and Newfoundland said they were removing Russian spirits, while Ontario, Canada's most populous province, also directed the Liquor Control Board Of Ontario to withdraw all Russian products.
