Over 2,000 sanitation workers to be covered under free meal scheme in Krishnagiri

Over 2,000 sanitation workers in Krishnagiri to receive free meals under a new scheme launched by the Chief Minister.
Over 2,028 sanitation workers will be provided meals free-of-cost under the free meal scheme in the district covering one municipality, one Corporation and six town panchayats.
The scheme was launched on the heels of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launching the scheme for urban local bodies workers and town panchayat sanitation workers.
The scheme would cover 1,354 sanitation workers in Hosur Corporation, 73 permanent sanitation workers in Krishnagiri Municipality, 131 temporary sanitation workers in Krishnagiri Municipality, 22 temporary drivers, 13 sanitation workers of municipality schools, and 91 dengue prevention workers.
The scheme would also cover 66 sanitation workers in Bargur town panchayat, 87 in Denkanikottai town panchayat; 52 in Kaveripattinam town panchayat; 43 in Kelamangalam town panchayat; 33 in Nagojanahalli town panchayat and 63 in Uthangarai town panchayat.
Collector C. Dinesh Kumar launched the scheme at TP Road marriage hall for the sanitation workers. Safety kits were also provided to them.
