IIT Madras launches Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics and Space Tech

IIT Madras introduces an online Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics and Space Technology, open to all eligible students without IIT-JEE requirements.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, has launched a Bachelor of Science programme in Aeronautics and Space Technology, a skill-based undergraduate programme, offered completely online.
The course is designed to equip students with industry-relevant analysis and design capabilities in aeronautics, space systems, and allied sectors, and is aimed at addressing skills gap in sunrise sectors such as unmanned aerial vehicles, civil aviation, and space technologies.
Students who have passed Class XII or equivalent, or diploma holders may join, since there is no cap on enrolment or a requirement for IIT-JEE qualification, a press release said.
The course was launched in the presence of V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, while D.K. Sunil, Chairman and Managing Director, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, and V. Sumantran, former Chairman, Indigo Airlines, joined virtually.
