JugJugg Jeeyo box office collection Day 9: Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani's film sees good growth

Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani's film JugJugg Jeeyo is doing well at the box office. It is minting good numbers.

JugJugg Jeeyo, starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli, released in the theatres on June 24. The film is a total winner at the box office as it opened to positive reviews. The second Saturday of Raj Mehta's film, that is July 2, surprisingly saw theatres go houseful. The star-studded family drama has already earned over Rs 50 crore and is already in the race to enter the Rs 100-crore club. According to early reports, JugJugg Jeeyo recorded excellent growth on Saturday and is all set for a blockbuster Sunday.

Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani-starrer Jugjugg Jeeyo had a decent opening at the box office. The film has crossed the Rs 50 crore threshold in its first week itself. Delhi continues to be its best faring circuits, as the business in Mumbai was impacted by rains. JugJugg Jeeyo has also become the fifth highest-grossing Hindi movie of the year, domestically, after The Kashmir Files, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Samrat Prithviraj. On Day 9, the film apparently collected Rs 4.75 crore nett. Hence, the total collection would now stand at Rs 58 crore nett. This is around 70 per cent up from the collections of second Friday.

BoxOfficeIndia stated, "JugJugg Jeeyo saw excellent growth on Saturday as it collected around 4.75 crore nett which is around 70% up from the second Friday which will take the film to the 58 crore nett and set it up for a solid Sunday which again should show good growth."

Further the report read, "The growth on Saturday came all over except for Gujarat which did not show the sort of growth which should have come. But it could be a market thing as a blockbuster Gujrati film also failed to show an upturn on Saturday which was a certainty. In the North the film was very good in both Delhi NCR and East Punjab while Bangalore and Kolkata also jumped strongly. Mumbai city also holding up despite the poor weather so generally the bigger collecting areas of Mumbai and North are doing well."

India Today gave 3.5 stars to JugJugg Jeeyo. Our review read, "JugJugg Jeeyo’s biggest strength lies in the fact that it is able to showcase the strength of its entire star cast in the best way possible. It is a bit too long that has nothing new to offer when it comes to showcasing the fun side of a Punjabi wedding. Some scenes are shot in such a way that they could make their way into an Ekta Kapoor daily soap. The film has loud background music and dialogue that cross the normal decibel levels."
