Dhurandhar 2 actor Manav Gohil says he didn't audition for the film, talks success

Manav Gohil reflected on the massive success of Dhurandhar 2, admitting the scale of its box office impact still hasn't sunk in. From a last-minute casting call to sharing screen space with Ranveer Singh and R Madhavan, the actor opened up about his journey.
At a time when Dhurandhar 2 is not just dominating the domestic box office but also clocking impressive numbers overseas, actor Manav Gohil finds himself in disbelief.
The film, which has sparked conversations about scale, storytelling and even the future syntax of mainstream Hindi cinema, has placed Gohil, who plays the composed and perceptive intelligence officer, firmly in the spotlight. But for the actor, the moment is still sinking in.
“I’ll be very honest. No, it hasn’t sunk in,” Gohil said. “Even as we speak, I’m still getting to know the magnitude of the success this film is drawing. The number of calls I’ve received in the last two or three days from Canada and North America, it’s crazy. I don’t think I’ve received these many calls even on my birthday.”
What stands out to him, however, is not just personal validation, but collective pride. “People are so excited, and they’re proud, not just of me, but of the film. It’s overwhelming. I’m still trying to gauge how deep this success goes,” he added.
In an industry where casting often involves multiple rounds of auditions and negotiations, Gohil’s entry into Dhurandhar reads almost like a twist of fate.
“It was never really a choice in the first place. I was holidaying with my family in Mussoorie when Mukesh [Chhabra] called and asked if I had dates. I said yes, and he said, ‘Bangkok jaana hai.’ That was it. There was no audition. I didn’t know what the film was, who the director was, nothing,” he recalled.
