Hrithik Roshan has THIS to say about comparisons with Vijay Sethupathi in Vikram Vedha

Hrithik Roshan will be reprising Vijay Sethupathi’s role as Vedha in the Hindi remake of Vikram Vedha. During a chat, he was asked to react about comparisons.

Hrithik Roshan will be seen playing Vedha in the Vikram Vedha Hindi remake. The Tamil film first released in 2017 and starred Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan in the lead roles. With Hrithik now taking up the role of Vedha, comparisons are inevitable. During a group interview, when Hrithik was asked if he is prepared for the comparisons, the actor mentioned that he never takes up a role thinking about these elements.

He told the media present, “For me, that’s not been my aim. It is not a thought in my head that I need to do with. I have just taken a part and done it like how I would do it.” He drew comparisons with Agneepath, which was again a remake he starred in. “That is what I did when I was doing Agneepath when everybody was worried about the comparisons, but when I like something, I take it and give it my all. Then whatever it is, it is okay,” Hrithik reiterated.

Hrithik also spoke about keeping his onscreen persona and his real self-separated. Speaking about how he has learnt to separate to two and know how to not get swayed away by the adulation, Hrithik shared, “Kabir in War or Vedha now are handmade characters, that’s not me. It’s my work. It’s so important to demarcate and differentiate me as a person, from the person I am and the persona that I project on-screen. If I don’t separate the two, I will live in chaos. I will always live as a hungry soul, trying to get the applause all the time, trying to portray all of that in my real life. That would be traumatic.”

Vikram Vedha has been directed by filmmaker-duo Pushkar-Gayatri, who also helmed the original. The film follows the story of a cop who is on a hunt to arrest a gangster. In a turn of events, the gangster challenges the cop’s version of good and evil in a smartly made tale of a classic cat and mouse chase.
