Foundation stone laid for Patrika Bhavan in Belagavi

Public Works Minister lays foundation stone for Patrika Bhavan in Belagavi, fulfilling a 25-year-old demand by local journalists.
Public Works Minister and district in-charge Satish Jarkiholi laid the foundation stone for a Patrika bhavan at Visveswaraiah Nagar in Belagavi on Friday.
Apart from facilities to hold press conferences, the building will have a hall for organising seminars and discussions and also, space for sports and recreation for journalists, the Minister said.
He said that a well-equipped building will come up within a year. He directed Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan to build a compound wall and drill a borewell to ensure water supply and to ensure power supply to the site.
Karnataka Working Journalists Union district president Dilip Kurundawade thanked the Minister and officers for fulfilling a 25-year-old demand by local journalists.
Horticulture Minister S.S. Mallikarjuna laid the foundation stone for the District Horticulture office in the adjacent site. He said that it will help officers work efficiently and offer extension and other services to farmers.
MLAs Asif (Raju) Sait, Vishwas Vaidya and Babasaheb Patil, Horticulture Secretary Shamla Iqbal, Horticulture Director D.S. Ramesh, Superintendent of Police Bheemashankar S. Guled, Zilla Panchayat CEO Rahul Shinde, Joint Director of Information Manjunath Dollin, Deputy Director Gurunath Kadabur, Deputy Director of Horticulture Mahantesh Murugod, Senior Assistant Director of Information Jadiappa Gedlagatti, senior journalists and others were present.
