Forest ranger among three persons injured in road accident in Vellore

Forest range officer and two others injured in a road accident near Vellore, SUV driver arrested, victims out of danger.
A 32-year-old forest range officer and two others were injured after the jeep they were travelling in was hit from behind by an SUV at Pallikonda toll plaza on the outskirts of Vellore.
The police said K. Sowmiya, 32, forest range officer in-charge, was returning to Odugathur after attending a meeting in Vellore along with S. Ajithkumar, 28, a forest guard. The driver B. Satish, 29, stopped the vehicle at the toll gate to get the clearance when a Karnataka registered SUV hit the jeep from behind.
In the impact, all the three in the jeep were injured. Toll plaza officials and other motorists nabbed the SUV driver C. Prabhu, 37, a native of KGF in Kolar. The injured were admitted at the Government Medical College Hospital in Vellore. Doctors said they were out of danger. A case was registered by Pallikonda police against the SUV driver.
