Tragic death of a five-year-old girl in Ramanathapuram due to house wall collapse during heavy rain.
During the heavy rain that lashed parts of Ramanathapuram district on Friday (December 13, 2024), a five-year-old girl died after the wall of a house collapsed on her.
According to police, when the girl P. Keerthika was standing outside her thatched house at Melayakudi village near Paramakudi, a part of the wall of her house fell on her. Unable to withstand the heavy weight, she died on the spot.
Police said, due to the heavy downpour for two continuous days, the soil might have loosened and led to the wall collapse. The body was taken to Paramakudi government hospital.
Emaneswaram police have registered a case and investigation is underway.
