Falguni Pathak spoke about song recreations amid her feud with Neha Kakkar over Maine Payal Hai Chhankai remake. The singer said that she is fine with her songs being remade, however, one shouldn't spoil it.
Who doesn’t know about the ongoing feud between Falguni Pathak and Neha Kakkar? Neha recreated a popular late 90s song, Maine Payal Hai Chhankai, originally sung by Falguni, which received flak online. In fact, the remake titled O Sajna didn’t go down well with Falguni herself. After she commented against it in many interviews, the singer was spotted with Neha Kakkar on Indian Idol 13. And now, Falguni has gone on to say that she doesn’t mind if her songs are being recreated, however, one should retain its original flavour and not spoil it.
Amid her ongoing feud with Neha Kakkar for recreating her song Maine Payal Hai Chhankai, Falguni Pathak has said that she is fine with her songs being remade. She added that it should be done while retaining its simplicity, flavour and not spoil it. Speaking to Mirchi Plus, she said, "Adapt karo lekin acchi tarike se karo. Remixes ban rahe hai aajkal aur acche bhi ban rahe hai jo humlog bhi stage pe gaate hai. Lekin usko acchi tarah se use karo na. Tum usko faltu kyu bana dete ho (Adapt but do it well. There are so many remixes being made well and even we sing it on stage. But do it well. Why do you spoil it)?”
Talking about her song Maine Payal Hai Chhankai, Falguni further added, "I think the song came out in 2000 and till date, it is really fresh. Even when I perform the song now, people give us the same reaction and love that they had on the first day. Usko recreate karo, usme alag rhythm do, make it modern lekin achi tarike se karo na. Uski jo beauty hai, jo simplicity hai usko mat touch karo (Do recreate it, give it a different rhythm, make it modern but do it well. Don't touch the beauty and simplicity of the song)."
After Falguni Pathak expressed her displeasure over Neha Kakkar's recreation of Maine Payal Hai Chhankai, the singer was spotted with the latter on Indian Idol 13. In fact, Neha was the one to introduce Falguni on the show.
