Amid reports of sexual harassment, Elon Musk has come up with a name for the scandal. He has called it 'Elongate' and said it's kinda perfect.
As reports accused Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk of sexually assaulting a flight attendant and later paying her off to silence her, he has come up with a name for the scandal. He named it 'Elongate' and said, "It's kinda perfect."

Earlier, in 2021, he had tweeted, "If there’s ever a scandal about me, *please* call it Elongate."
A report by Business Insider claimed that SpaceX had paid the flight attendant, who accused Musk of sexual misconduct, $2,50,000 in order to silence her. The report said the incident took place in 2016 when Musk was on the flight and the payment was made in 2018.
The attendant, who used to work on a contract basis for the corporate jet fleet of SpaceX, accused Musk of exposing himself to her, rubbing her leg without consent and offering to buy her a horse or an erotic massage, the Business Insider reported.
"The incident is alleged in a declaration signed by a friend of the attendant and prepared in support of her claim. The details in this story are drawn from the declaration as well as other documents, including email correspondence and other records shared with Insider by the friend," added the Business Insider report.
According to the declaration, the attendant told her friend that after taking the flight attendant job, she was pushed to get licensed as a masseuse so that she could give massages to Musk. She further said during one such massage session, in a private cabin on Musk's Gulfstream G650ER, he propositioned her.
