
DMK and its allies stage demonstrations condemning Centre for LPG shortage

DMK and allies protest across central Tamil Nadu, criticizing the Centre for the ongoing LPG cylinder shortage.
Cadre of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and its allies staged demonstrations at various places in the central region on Sunday condemning the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre for the shortage of LPG cylinders.
The demonstrations were held at seven places in Tiruchi with the Minister for Municipal Administration K.N. Nehru taking part in the stir near the BSNL office. School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi participated in the demonstration near the Armoury Gate at Ponmalai. Elsewhere in Tiruchi district, the demonstrations were organised at places including Manikandam, Tiruverumbur, Uppiliapuram and Lalgudi.
Demonstrations in Pudukottai district were held at places, including Pudukottai Town, Aranthangi, Keeranur, Avudaiyarkoil and Tirumayam. In Perambalur district, the demonstrations were held at 13 places including at Perambalur Town. In Nagapattinam district, the demonstrations were held at 18 places; in Mayiladuthurai district at six places; in Tiruvarur district at 12 places and at 14 places in Thanjavur district, said police sources.
