After announcing the invasion of Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin in a stern warning to 'outsiders' said, "To anyone who would consider interfering from the outside: if you do, you will face consequences greater than any of you have faced in history. All relevant decisions have been taken. I hope you hear me."

Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Moscow does not plan to occupy Ukraine. He announced the military plan and stated that military action will seek to "demilitarize" Ukraine.
"We decided to launch a special military action aimed at demilitarisation and denazification of Ukraine," he said.
