Class 10 board examination begins in central districts
The Class 10 State Board examination commenced on Wednesday, with students appearing for language paper.
As many as 33,940 candidates (17,177 boys and 16,763 girls) from 446 schools had enrolled for the examination in Tiruchi district at 177 centres. About 33,490 students turned up, and 446 candidates remained absent. Of the 565 private candidates who enrolled for the test, 437 appeared, with 28 being absent. About 178 chief supervisors, 181 departmental officers, and 37 route officers were deployed to monitor the process.
In Perambalur district, 7,928 candidates (4,283 boys and 3,645 girls) from 143 schools had enrolled for the examinations in 46 centres. About 118 candidates (85 boys and 33 girls) remained absent. In addition, of the 89 private candidates enrolled, 86 appeared for the exam. About 46 chief supervisors, 48 departmental officers, and 56 flying squads were deployed to monitor the process.
As many as 22,806 candidates and 180 private candidates had enrolled for the examinations in Pudukottai district. About 22,219 candidates and 173 private candidates attended the examination, with 588 students and seven private candidates remaining absent.
In Nagapattinam district, out of the 8,537 candidates, including 134 private candidates, enrolled for the Class 10 examination, 8,382 took the exam, with 54 absent. About 118 private candidates appeared for the exam, with 16 remaining absent.
A total of 12,164 students (6,057 boys and 6,107 girls) were enrolled to appear for the examinations in the Mayiladuthurai district at 53 centres. Of them, 11,978 students (5,915 boys and 6,063 girls) took the exam. About 53 chief supervisors, 55 departmental officers, and 70 flying squads were deployed for monitoring. Collector H.S.
