Social Service Association President Manisha Jha in her introductory address highlighted the role and status of women in ancient India and emphasised the importance of ensuring equal opportunities and recognition for women in society.
KRCL Chairman and Managing Director Santosh Kumar Jha spoke about the invaluable contributions of women to the growth and success of the organisation and concluded with a thought-provoking poem. He reiterated KRCL’s commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment and ensuring equal opportunities for women across all levels.
The celebration also featured a Management Insight Programme with Jaya Varma Sinha, Central Information Commission’s Information Commissioner and former Chairperson and CEO of the Railway Board, as the guest speaker. She shared insights from her extensive experience in Indian Railways, highlighting leadership and management practices.
Ms. Sinha holds the distinction of being the first woman Chairperson and CEO of the Board, and she also served as Railway Advisor at the High Commission of India in Dhaka. During the session, she shed light on important aspects of women’s leadership, empowerment and their evolving role in organisations.
The celebration included engaging discussions and interactive sessions focused on women’s empowerment and their valuable contributions. An exhibition of artwork, handmade and handloom items created by women of Konkan Railway and members of KRWC & SSA was also organised.
