The central agency officials have stated that they are still waiting to get back the analysis of the CCTV footage they have recovered. They said that they had sent the footage to external agencies for analysis, and they were yet to get back the report, hence the delay in their investigation.
“The CBI officials say the same thing in every hearing and every status report submission, that they are investigating, and looking into things, and work is in progress,” the mother of the R.G. Kar victim told The Hindu on June 11, Wednesday. She alleged that the CBI officials are dragging their feet in the investigation process.
The victim’s father added that he had more hope from the Calcutta High Court hearing scheduled for June 30 than from any lower court hearings.
The victim’s mother questioned why the CBI officials were not analysing the CCTV footage in-house, and why it took almost a year to analyse the footage when it is one of the most important pieces of evidence.
