BJP leaders insulting Telangana keeping quiet on Centre’s discrimination: Revanth

Revanth Reddy accuses BJP of neglecting Telangana's needs and questioning local leaders' silence on Centre’s financial discrimination.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy charged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with insulting Telangana’s self-respect, keeping quiet on Centre’s financial discrimination.
He said the Centre merely returns only 42 paise for every rupee collected from Telangana, while Karnataka gets just 16 paise and Tamil Nadu 26 paise. On the other hand, Bihar gets ₹6.06, Madhya Pradesh ₹2.09 and Uttar Pradesh ₹2.90 for every rupee contributed.
Questioning BJP leaders from Telangana, he asked whether they had ever raised this issue with the Prime Minister, the Union government or the NITI Aayog. The Chief Minister said no project in Telangana had received national status, no special grants had been sanctioned for the Musi river, Metro Rail, or the Sammakka–Saralamma Jathara, and major initiatives such as ITIR and semiconductor projects had been denied to the State.
Even during natural disasters like the Khammam floods, he said, no additional Central assistance was provided, while land acquisition costs for the Warangal airport were borne entirely by the State government.
Yet, the BJP leaders claim they were giving huge funds to Telangana. “What is the contribution of Telangana BJP MPs and Union Ministers in getting additional funds or support to projects,” he asked.
He recalled that in 2014, PM Narendra Modi had promised to accord national project status to the Palamuru–Rangareddy lift irrigation scheme, a promise that remains unfulfilled. He also referred to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s visit to Adilabad for election campaigning, and said there was no assurance for completing the Pranahita–Chevella project, which could provide irrigation and drinking water to two lakh acres.
