Australian kelpie sold for a whopping sum of USD 27,000 at dog auction

An Australian kelpie was sold for a record-breaking price of $27, 090 (Rs 19,85,967) at a working dog auction in Australia’s Victoria. Eulooka Hoover, a 2-year-old “special” kelpie dog, was sold at the Australian Premier Working Dog Auction for a whooping sum on Sunday, according to a report on CNN. Hoover has been bought by an anonymous sheep and cattle grazier. Kelpies are herding dogs used to roundup livestock, primarily sheep, cattle and goats. Hoover has received the highest price for a working dog in Australia, breaking the national record. Sarah and her husband David Lee bought Hoover from a friend two years ago when he was just about four months. Sarah, who is originally from England, moved to Australia in her 20s after meeting her husband. The couple run a farm in Victoria. Speaking to CNN, Sarah said, "He really connects with you. He's full of energy and life. David is really happy that he's gone to a really good home. We knew he was special." David said Hoover was "quite a character". Sarah added that they “had an inkling” that 2-year-old Hoover could break the record because there was a lot of interest around him. "It's sad as well. He's been a big part of our lives but we did buy him specifically for the sale," Sarah further added.
