A newly married daughter received huge quantities of fish, vegetables, pickles and sweets as a gift from her father during Ashadha Masam, the holy month in Telugu tradition. It is a significant month for the newlyweds. As per tradition, the new bride receives gifts from her parents during this time. A father’s gift to his newly married daughter in Andhra Pradesh has become the talk of the town. Battula Balarama Krishna, a prominent businessman from Rajahmundry, sent 1000 kg fish, 1000 kg vegetables, 250 kg prawns, 250 kg grocery items, 250 jars of pickles, 250 kg sweets, 50 chicken, 10 goats to his daughter’s residence in Yanam, Puducherry.
