Yogandhra initiative aims to make Andhra Pradesh healthy and happy through mass yoga sessions at tourist sites.
District Collector P. Ranjith Basha on Tuesday said that Yogandhra initiative launched by the State government aims to transform the State into a ‘healthy and happy Andhra Pradesh.’
As part of the initiative, a large-scale yoga session was organised at the Orvakal Rock Garden by the Tourism department. Nearly 1,000 yoga teachers participated in the session. Mr. Basha revealed that on International Yoga Day, which falls on June 21, the government plans to mobilise 10 lakh individuals from across the district for a mass yoga session.
The training classes for the master trainers and trainers are completed, and village-level yoga competitions are presently ongoing. The Collector said: “In an effort to blend wellness and heritage tourist sites, yoga sessions will be held at famous tourist sites. On June 12 at Konda Reddy Burju, on June 17 a special yoga session will be held with 5,000 sanitation workers in Kurnool, and on June 18 at Mantralayam.

The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday ordered the issue of a notice to the State government on a PIL petition, which had complained about disturbances caused to people residing in the localities around the National Public School situated in Rajajinagar 5th block due to use of loudspeakers with high volume in the school and parking of school buses in residential areas.
