Renowned writer and Malayalam director M.T. Vasudevan Nair is in critical condition, and has been admitted to the Baby Memorial Hospital on Friday, December 20, 2024.
According to the medical bulletin released by the hospital, the diagnosis is heart failure and is receiving intensive medical support, to optimize cardiac function and stabilize vital parameters.
For decades, Mr. Nair has been the presiding deity of Malayalam fiction. With his formidable contemporaries, O.V. Vijayan and Madhavi Kutty (Kamala Das) gone, M.T. remains unchallenged as the lone superstar of Malayalam letters.
