Despite lodging protests, the Telangana Power Finance Corporation paid a total of ₹1,270 crore up to August 2024. Of this amount, ₹481.82 crore constituted the principal, while ₹788.18 crore was paid as interest.
Subsequently, the Telangana government approached the Centre seeking reimbursement of the excess amount. Although proposals pertaining to the issue were forwarded to the Union Ministry concerned, they are still pending consideration.
