Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on October 3 said he would request the Centre to defer by a year the Union Territory's participation in the all-India quota in this year's NEET exam.
A delegation of NEET Post-Graduate MD/MS aspirants called on the Lieutenant at Raj Bhavan here.
The delegation led by Dr. Junaid Ali apprised the Lt. Governor of various issues of their concern regarding the Union Territory's participation in all India quota in this year's NEET Exam.
Around 440 MBBS graduates of 2021 are not required to undergo one year of compulsory rural service as per the bond signed by them while joining the medical course through government-quota seats in 2015 as the High Court of Karnataka has said the law, enacted in 2012 for mandatory rural service, remained unenforced for 10 years as it was published in the official gazette only in July 2022.
