When Raju Srivastava's mimicry skills helped him earn a scholarship in school

Raju Srivastava passed away today, September 21. Siddharth Bajpayee, who was his senior in school, has revealed a surprising fact about the comedian's childhood.

Raju Srivastava, widely regarded as one of the finest comedians in the industry, died on September 21. This left his family and friends heartbroken. Siddharth Bajpayee, who was Raju's senior in school, has now shared certain unknown incidents from Gajodhar Bhaiya's life. In an interview, he said that Raju faced challenges during his school days as he hailed from a financially weak background. He, however, managed to earn a freeship due to his mimicry skills.

Siddharth Bajpayee, who studied in the same school as Raju Srivastava, has revealed that the star comedian's mimicry skills helped him deal with financial challenges during his early years. He said that Gajodhar Bhaiyaa would mimic his teachers during school. He often got into trouble because of this habit. His teachers would often raise the issue with the school Principal, who would scold the future star. He would, however, soon give him a pat on the back. His mimicry skills eventually helped him earn a freeship in school.

Raju Srivastava began his career in the 80s but didn't find success instantly. He essayed small roles in films such as the Anil Kapoor-led Tezaab and Shah Rukh Khan's Baazigar to make ends meet in Mumbai. Raju got his first break when he appeared on Tea Time Manoranjan, a comedy show that aired on Doordarshan in 1994. It was, however, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (TGILC) had established him as a bankable name. While he didn't secure pole position on the reality show, his clips from the same became quite popular. He was praised for his relatable and clean brand of comedy. In his last Insta reel, he tried to spread awareness about the Covid-19 pandemic among his followers. His death is a big loss for the comedy world.
