The water level in Papanasam dam stood at 89.15 feet (the maximum level is 143 feet) with an inflow of 2,571.37 cusecs and a discharge of 300 cusecs. The level in Manimuthar dam stood at 84 feet (118 feet) with an inflow of 68 cusecs and a discharge of 45 cusecs. The rainfall recorded in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Monday was in (mm): Ambasamudram 6.20, Palayamkottai 4, Tirunelveli 1.60, Papanasam 39, Nanguneri 7.20, Manjolai 24, Kakkachi 32, Nalumukku 40 and Oothu recorded 46 mm rainfall.
