A vlogger's experiment selling Maggi in the mountains has gone viral, attracting millions of views and raising questions about potential profits from such ventures.
Vlogger Badal Thakur recently shared a video documenting his experiment of setting up a temporary Maggi stall at an undisclosed mountain location. With nothing more than a table, an LPG cylinder and a steady flow of hungry tourists, Thakur sold plates of Maggi throughout the day, charging Rs 70 for regular Maggi and Rs 100 for cheese Maggi.
According to the Instagram video, Thakur managed to sell between 300 and 350 plates in a single day, earning a reported Rs 21,000. Titled “Selling Maggi in Mountains for a Day,” the clip quickly went viral, amassing over four million views and sparking conversations around the enduring popularity of Maggi as a comfort food in hill stations.

Maggi stalls have long been a familiar sight in mountainous tourist destinations, where cold weather and long travel hours make the hot, quick meal especially appealing. Thakur’s video tapped into this sentiment, showing how a simple setup and a popular product can attract steady demand.
Social media users were quick to do the math. Several commenters calculated that at this rate, a vendor could potentially earn over Rs 6 lakh a month, prompting amused reactions such as, “Should I quit my job?” and “Engineering is temporary, Maggi is permanent.”

Leon Panetta said Iran war was not an unexpected risk. He pointed out that for years, US security officials have known Iran could disrupt global oil supplies by blocking the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, this was a well-known danger, but one that appears to have been overlooked in the current conflict.
