
US President Joe Biden agrees to meet Vladimir Putin if Russia hasn’t invaded Ukraine

In a press statement issued by the White House on February 20, US President Joe Biden agreed to a meeting with President Vladimir Putin if Russia doesn't invade Ukraine.
The White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, issued a statement confirming that US President Joe Biden will meet Vladimir Putin if Russia hasn’t invaded Ukraine.
On February 20, the White House issued a statement that read, “ As the President has repeatedly made clear, we are committed to pursuing diplomacy until the moment an invasion begins.”

According to the statement, Secretary Antony Blinken and Foreign minister Lavrorv are scheduled to meet later this week. “President Biden accepted in principle a meeting with President Putin following that invasion, again, if an invasion hasn’t happened.”
It further reads, “We are always ready for diplomacy. We are also ready to impose swift and severe consequences should Russia instead choose war. And currently, Russia appears to be continuing preparations for a full-scale assault on Ukraine very soon.”

Leon Panetta said Iran war was not an unexpected risk. He pointed out that for years, US security officials have known Iran could disrupt global oil supplies by blocking the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, this was a well-known danger, but one that appears to have been overlooked in the current conflict.
