Before heading to his wedding venue, a groom from Muzaffarnagar went to the polling station to cast his vote. The groom has been identified as Ankur Balyan.
As Uttar Pradesh started polling for the first phase of Assembly elections on Thursday, a groom-to-be from Muzaffarnagar grabbed headlines for a very special reason. Ahead of his wedding, he was spotted at the polling station to cast his vote.
Groom Ankur Balyan’s wedding date coincided with the polls in Muzaffarnagar. However, did not let his wedding deter him from exercising his duties as a citizen. Before heading to his wedding venue, Ankur arrived at the polling station to cast his vote.
He arrived at the polling station dressed in a dark blue suit and red safa. When asked if he came after his wedding ceremony, the groom said, “Ab jayenge ji baarat leke (Will go with the wedding procession now),” he told ANI.
“Pehle matdaan, uske baad bahu, uske baad sab kaam (first comes voting, then wife and everything else after that),” he added.
