A bride in Uttar Pradesh was flown to her marital home in a helicopter after her grand vidai ceremony, a moment that was captured in a now-viral video.
Residents of Charkhari town in Uttar Pradesh witnessed an extraordinary wedding vidai this week when a bride departed not in a decorated car or traditional palanquin, but in a helicopter.
The unusual send-off quickly became the talk of the town after a chopper landed at the Dak Bungalow grounds in Charkhari to take the newlywed bride, Akanksha, to her marital home. As the helicopter descended, crowds gathered in large numbers, with people pulling out their mobile phones to record the rare spectacle.
Akanksha is the daughter of former village head of Bhatewar Kalan and Samajwadi Party leader Dinesh Kumar Rajput. She married Nirvesh Rajput, son of Satyendra Kumar, a well-known businessman from Auraiya.
While the wedding itself was attended by family and community members, it was the farewell ceremony that truly stood out.
According to family members, the helicopter send-off was the fulfilment of a long-standing family dream. Groom Nirvesh Rajput explained that his father had always wished for his daughter-in-law to be welcomed “like a queen” and for her farewell to be marked in a grand and memorable way. To honour that wish, Nirvesh arranged for a helicopter to transport them after the ceremony.
As the rotors began to spin and the aircraft prepared for departure, the atmosphere at the Dak Bungalow grounds reportedly resembled a fair. Locals from nearby areas gathered in large numbers to witness what many described as a “film-like” scene unfolding in their small town.

Leon Panetta said Iran war was not an unexpected risk. He pointed out that for years, US security officials have known Iran could disrupt global oil supplies by blocking the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, this was a well-known danger, but one that appears to have been overlooked in the current conflict.
