Two men arrested in Hyderabad for transporting 11kg of ganja worth ₹2.85 lakh, revealing a drug smuggling operation.
Two men from Odisha were arrested in Hyderabad for transporting 11 kilograms of ganja worth ₹2.85 lakh. On the morning of June 9, the Commissioner’s Task Force, East Zone along with the Afzalgunj police, conducted a raid at a private bus parking area near JK Nursery, Afzalgunj. There, they intercepted the two accused, as they awaited the arrival of a local contact to hand over the drugs.
The arrested individuals were identified as Aman Hantali, 22, and Raiman Gute, 18, both residents of Malkangiri district in Odisha, who have been working as labourers.
Investigation revealed that the two came in contact with a man named Jhinno, who was supplying ganja across state lines. He is said to have offered them ₹12,500 for each delivery trip. On June 8, the duo travelled to Bhadrachalam, where they collected the consignment from one of Jhinno’s associates before boarding a private bus to Hyderabad.
They were arrested before they could meet the intended recipient, identified as Vinod Singh, a resident of Hyderabad. The seized ganja and mobile phone were handed over to Afzalgunj police for further investigation.

“Judicial time is a valuable public resource. Every frivolous or misconceived invocation of constitutional jurisdiction results in diversion of time from genuinely deserving litigants,” said the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court while imposing a cost of ₹50,000 on a man from Theni district who filed a petition with an unusual prayer: permission to conduct daily protests till the ‘World War’ ends.
