A sleeping solutions start-up named Wakefit has grabbed the attention of Twitter after their co-founder Chaitanya Ramalingegowda e-mailed the employees about officially taking naps during work.
We’d be lying if we denied the fact that all of us have felt a bit sleepy while working. However, unlike Japan, the ‘nap-culture’ is not that well known in the country, so when a Bengaluru startup shared a post about making it official, netizens were thoroughly surprised.
A sleeping solutions start-up named Wakefit has grabbed the attention of Twitter after their co-founder Chaitanya Ramalingegowda e-mailed the employees about officially taking naps during work. A Twitter post shared by Wakefit shows the contents of the email as well.
“We have decided to normalise afternoon naps at work and declare 2 to 2:30 pm as official nap time for all our employees. From now on, you will have the right to nap between 2 to 2:30 pm. Your calendar will be blocked during this time as official nap time. We are also working towards creating cozy nap pods," read the e-mail.

The post was highly appreciated by netizens. While many wrote about how important a nap is during work to prevent stress and burnouts, others pointed out that the nap culture should be an important part in every company.
