
Spillover effect of pandemic on finances ₹1 lakh crore

Notwithstanding the loss to the State treasury by about ₹ 50,000 crore and its spillover effect on the government up to ₹1 lakh crore on account of COVID, Mr. Rao has expressed the hope that the outlay of the coming budget would be higher than last year.
The financial activity in the State had picked up after the COVID situation had eased. The income generation in various forms had shown an upward trend. So, the budget for 2020-21 would hopefully be bright, he indicated while reviewing the budget preparations at a meeting on Saturday.
