A SpiceJet pilot’s ‘time to go home’ announcement onboard a Budapest to New Delhi evacuation flight is going viral.
A SpiceJet pilot has delighted the internet with a heartwarming announcement that he made on a special evacuation flight from Hungary's Budapest to New Delhi. The aircraft was packed with Indian passengers leaving the country amid the escalating tension between Ukraine and Russia.
In the video that was shared by SpiceJet on social media, the pilot was seen standing at the head of the aisle inside the aircraft as he made the announcement, saying, “We are very happy to see all of you safe and sound and proud of each and every one of you for your courage and determination. You overcame the uncertainty, the hardship, the fear and have made it here safely. Now it’s time to go back to our motherland.”
He further mentioned the duration and stops during the flight and ended his announcement with a bold “Jai Hind” as the passengers cheered and clapped.

The clip is swiftly going viral on Twitter and already has over 2,500 views. In the last few days, Indian evacuation flights have been operating from the Romanian capital, Bucharest, and the Hungarian capital, Budapest.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tweeted on Wednesday that six additional evacuation flights have departed for India in the last 24 hours.
