A heartwarming post shared on Twitter by the official account of the Public Relations Officer of Chennai under Directorate of Public Relations, Ministry of Defence, has won the internet today. The post shows retired Major Smita Chaturvedi posing with her son who had just passed out of the same academy. 27 years later, happiness was clearly visible on Chaturvedi’s face. “A rare euphoric moment for a Lady Officer: Major Smita Chaturvedi (Retd) Commissioned from Officers Training Academy, Chennai before 27 years in 1995, saw her son getting Commissioned in the same manner in the same Academy today,” read the caption.

A short video of an ecstatic Chaturvedi was also shared. She spoke about how euphoric she felt after her son’s achievement. She also reminisced the old days and explained how the landscape of the Academy has changed with the passing years. “Maj Smita Chaturvedi(Retd) reminisces her old days of being a Cadet in the illustrious Academy and ecstatic about her son re-enacting the glorious script of joining Army like herself,” read the caption.
