During the American Song Contest red carpet on Monday, Snoop Dogg revealed that a collaboration with the South-Korean boy band BTS is indeed in the works.

There is some amazing news for BTS and Snoop Dogg fans. A collaboration between the two has been confirmed by the hip-hop star himself and fans can’t keep calm. During the American Song Contest red carpet on Monday, Snoop Dogg revealed that a collaboration with the South-Korean boy band is indeed in the works.

Talking to The AV Club, Snoop said, “The BTS experience you keep talking about. I’m going to let them tell you about it. It’s official, like a referee with a whistle. I love that entertainment world. It’s good music. It’s [a] vibe. I make good music. They make good music. And we end up doing this. This is what it’s always about, bringing our worlds together.”

In an interview with the Mogul Talk podcast in January, Snoop Dogg informed that he had received a request from the K-pop band for a collaboration. “I got a group named BTS that’s waiting on me to do a song with them right now. And I’m trying to figure out if I got time to do that,” added Snoop.

The 50-year-old rapper wasn’t really aware of the global popularity of BTS and had to ask his nephew for more information on them. “I’ve been experiencing the K-pop experience for a long time, connected to the music world [and] scene. I got a record with a group called 2NE1 back in the day. Come on now, it’s what I do,” Snoop told The AV Club.

BTS also has a small connection with the American rapper. In 2015, BTS member RM worked with Snoop Dogg’s frequent collaborator and fellow rap artist Warren G on a single called P.D.D.

BTS consists of 7 members -RM, Jin, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook.
